BOAT HOUSE AT BOLDT CASTLE
This boat house still stands near the famous Boldt Castle on Heart Island near Alexandria Bay on the beautiful St. Lawrence River. Spending a weekend here each year the castle has just gone through a major makeover. The boat house still looks as good as it did when I first seen it back in 1984 on my first ever trip to the 1000 Islands.

OSWEGO INNER HARBOR LIGHTHOUSE
Spending just 2 Saturdays a year in Oswego I try getting as many different pictures as I can using different lenses and filters of this magnificant lighthouse. We come in June for the Tall Ships Festival and again in July for the Harborfest. I take over 100 pictures each time we visit. Last year I took 5 rolls of film along with about 100 digitals. I got the Fireworks Display all on digital. Came out super. |

ERIE RAILROAD DEPOT IN HORNELL, NY
Spending a lot of time checking out this newly restored depot I get 100 pictures of the finished depot each time we come to Hornell. It is only 43 miles from home so, we come here quite often. We was there about 3 weekends ago and got pictures several pictures of the depot along with the new Steuben Trust Company Bank on Seneca Street. I also have got pictures of the old Post Office and Armory all on Seneca Street also. Then going to the other side of town I get pictures of my grandparents old apartment house on Prindle Avenue. I enjoy getting pictures of the big buildings around the city. |
LAKE GEORGE STEAMBOAT COMPANY
Spending 4 days in Lake George every September for the Adirondack Balloon Festival I get over 1500 pictures each season. This past year in 2003 I took 18 rolls of prints and 1300 digitals on our 4 days there. Each year the balloon show gets better and bigger. The balloons are astronomical in beauty and size. Some of the shapes are so clever and colorful. In 2003 Lake George Village celebrated it's 100 year anniversary with a big parade and fireworks display lasting about 45 minutes. Have reservations already for 2004. |

THE BRAZILIAN CLOWN BALLOON
With 6 different lift offs at 6:00 AM & 6:00 PM about 100 balloons take to the skies every year at the Adirondack Balloon Festival in Queensbury, NY. The Clown balloon is a very popular balloon to all the younger generation. Each year about 6 different shaped animal balloons hit the skies at sunset. |
OSWEGO HARBORFEST FIREWORKS DISPLAY
In 2003, The Oswego Harborfest celebrates and goes out with a big boom. The finealley of fireworks last about 45 minutes long and draws over a million people for the weekend and just for the fireworks. We have been going since 1996 and enjoyed every year with 80 to 90 degree days. We only go on the Saturday to hit all the booths of arts & crafts & collectibles. The scenery is just delightful just to sit on the big rocks in the inner harbor and watch the boats and the people all around. Can't wait for 2004 Harborfest on July 22 - 25 2004. |

ATHS TRUCK & TRACTOR SHOW IN BATAVIA, NY
On the first Sunday in August of each year comes the American Truck Historical Society Annual Truck & Tractor & Construction Equiptment Show at the Genesee County Fairgrounds on Route 5 in Batavia, NY. The show starts at 11:00 AM and goes till 4:00 PM when the prizes are handed out. There are 9 different classes that all the people who attend get to vote on using a ballot for best of show class. I try to get a picture of every piece of equiptment that is there and entered. I usually get 150 or so photos each year. I have been attending for 5 years now. You see some of the same vehicals year after year that still look like the first day off the assembly line in the early 1900's. This 1947 American LaFrance Pumper that belongs to the Perry Fire Department in Perry, NY is used each year just for shows around the area. I am an Active member of this department now for 33 years. |
PURPLE PEOPLE EATER BALLOON AT NYSFOB
On Labor Day Weekend each year The New York State Festival Of Balloons is a 3 day event in Dansville, NY. Over 50 balloons start airing up at 6:30 PM and 6:30 AM and cover the skies with a super sight of balloons. I take both prints and digitals at all balloon festivals that we attend. Along with balloons lifting off they have a Arts & Craft Show that goes on all three days with lots & lots of food. This is a great 3 day event that I hope this year to have a new Canon 10D Digital Camera to take even better looking pictures that can be blowed up to poster size in the RAW format. Looking for a good deal! |

NEW YORK STATE ARMORY IN HORNELL, NY
While in Hornell a few weeks ago I stopped at the New York State Armory on Seneca Street. It was hard getting a good picture due to such an overcast day. There was a lot of traffic to contend with too. |
NORTH CREEK DEPOT IN NORTH CREEK NY
On Sunday while at the Adirondack Balloon Festival the balloon show had ended yesterday so, we spent sunday riding on the Upper Hudson River Railroad that is an 8 mile venture from North Creek to Ripulaus and turns around and heads back to North Creek. It took about an hour and a half for the complete run. We took a twenty minute break in Ripulas so the train could get turned around to head back. I took about 25 pictures of the area and along the way. I also got my picture taken by carol with the conductor of the train. I have that one framed. We crossed the Hudson River a couple of times and I got some nice pictures here. To check out our Adirondack Weekend go to : http://jimduell.freehomepage.com Website. Has about 75 pictures of everything we did for the 3 days in Lake George. After the Train Ride we went to .... Check out the site. |

CANANDAIGUA LADY STEAMBOAT
About an hour from here is spectacular Canandaigua Lake. This is someplace we go when there are no festivals around to go to. We walk around the beach and usually eat at the Steamboat Landing Resturant in Kershaw Park on the lakes edge. We have never been on this Canandiagua Lady. I don't know really why but, I guess it's not a long enough tour for the price. We spend a Saturday afternoon here and then go to Eastview Mall in the evening. We both do a lot of walking on a weekend. I need to take a lot of resting stops to ketch my breath while walking. Trying to shed some pounds so, this is easier than buying a machine to do the same thing. The scenery is a lot better to look at !!! |
SUN SETTING AT HARBORFEST
It's been a long day and done a lot of walking at Oswego Harborfest. It is time to get out the chairs and get ready for the fireworks as the sun starts to set over the sail boats in the inner harbor. It's about 8:30 PM and still 85 degrees but, still have about another hour and a half till fireworks time. What a swell view that we try to get each year cause all the fireworks are shot from the break wall just ahead of us. Can't Wait!! |

NEW PERRY # 3 AT FIREMENS BUILDING
This is our most recent picture that I took of Perry # 3. This is a 1980 Pierce Aerial Platform Ladder Truck. This was purchased from Brighton Fire Department which is a suburb of Chicago, IL. I have got lots and lots of pictures of our department trucks in the past 33 years. Being the Department Fire Photographer since 1972 I have over 35 albums of pictures of just Fire Department related. |
MORRISTOWN PIER 1000 ISLANDS
While in the 1000 Islands on vacation we went to Morristown, NY and spent a Friday evening sitting by the pier and watching the boats on the seaway. I took about 50 digitals while there. Mostly of the sun setting into the clouds. I took a picture about every 5 minutes while there. After downloading them when we got home I had taken some wonderful photos. I wasn't really sure how my new digital would work for pictures like this but, I was really amazed. |
